About the project
The Problem:
The beauty and wellness industry has long fallen short in representing and serving the Black community—especially with products that honor both heritage and individuality. Black men and women often have to search hard for products that understand their hair, skin, and stories. Beyond function, there’s a lack of brands that celebrate the power of the Afro—not just as a hairstyle, but as a spiritual and cultural symbol of strength, legacy, and pride.
The Solution:
Fro is a unisex beauty brand reclaiming space for Black men and women through natural, earth-born products—hair gels, shampoos, and bar soaps—that honor the care rituals of the culture. Designed for natural hair and melanin-rich skin, every product is rooted in heritage and crafted without compromise. The brand identity draws from the lush jungles and green valleys of Jamaica, using earthy tones to reflect grounding, healing, and ancestral connection. At its core is the Afro logo, crowned with a classic hair pick—a symbol of pride, power, and cultural legacy. More than a mark, it’s a statement: Fro celebrates natural beauty, honors Black identity, and empowers through every curl, cleanse, and crown.
