FRO — Brand Identity Brand Design
The mainstream beauty industry has long treated Black hair and melanin-rich skin as an afterthought. FRO was built to reclaim that space — a unisex beauty brand rooted in cultural pride and designed specifically for the Black community. The challenge was creating a visual identity that felt both celebratory and grounded, honoring heritage without becoming costume.
I developed the full brand identity, centered on a logo pairing the Afro silhouette with a hair pick — two icons loaded with cultural meaning that together communicate natural beauty, ancestral connection, and unapologetic self-expression. The broader visual system extends that language across packaging and brand touchpoints with warmth and intention.
